K. LAXMA GOUD

(b. 1940) Born in Andhra Pradesh, Laxma Goud studied at the College of Fine Arts and Architecture in Hyderabad and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of M.S. University in Baroda. Goud has exhibited widely, both within and outside India. His solo shows include ones held at Art Alive Gallery, New Delhi in 2012; Art Musings, Mumbai in 2011; the Aicon Gallery, London, in 2009; Gallerie 88, Kolkata, in 2009; Indian Contemporary Art (ICA), Jaipur, in 2008; Gallery Space, Hyderabad, in 2008, and the Guild Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2006 and 2003. His works have been part of group exhibitions including those held at Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai in 2012; Aicon Gallery, New York in 2011-12; Art Musings at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2008; Galerie 88 Kolkata, in 2007; Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2006; by Saffronart and Apparao Galleries, Los Angeles, 2001; Saffronart Hong kong 2001, Saffronart and Pundole Art Gallery, New York, 2001 and 2002; Centre of International Modern Art (CIMA), Kolkata, and the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, 1993; ‘Festival of India’, Geneva, 1987; and Worcester Art Museum, 1986. Goud received the Andhra Pradesh State Lalit Kala Academy awards in 1962, 1966 and 1971. The artist lives and works in Hyderabad.
